1. Acceptance of these Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using Saftera, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
"Saftera", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the Saftera app and website. "You" refers to the person using the app.
2. What Saftera provides
Saftera is an offline safety utility app. Features may include offline maps, GPS status, route recording, SOS signals, Morse, flashlight and strobe tools, compass, level, barometer, emergency contact details, rescue card information, offline translation, world clock, and diagnostics.
Features may vary by device, operating system, permissions, installed map packages, downloaded language models, battery level, sensors, and regional availability.
3. Safety and emergency disclaimer
Saftera is not an emergency service. It does not contact police, fire, rescue teams, or emergency dispatch services for you unless a feature explicitly opens a system app or lets you share information through a service you choose.
Saftera is not a substitute for calling local emergency numbers, certified navigation equipment, survival training, official warnings, qualified professional advice, or common sense. In an emergency, contact local emergency services when you can.
Maps, GPS, compass, barometer, translation, rescue card information, and other tools may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, unavailable, or unsuitable for your situation. Test the app before relying on it, keep your device charged, and carry appropriate backup equipment for high-risk activities.
4. Your content and responsibilities
You are responsible for information you enter into Saftera, including emergency contact details, rescue card content, journal entries, and route names. Keep this information accurate, lawful, and appropriate for your use.
You decide when to share information from Saftera through other apps or services. Once you share information outside Saftera, the recipient app, service, network, or person may handle it under their own terms and policies.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Saftera unlawfully or in a way that harms others.
- Misuse siren, flashlight, strobe, SOS, or emergency features.
- Interfere with the app, map delivery, servers, or security systems.
- Attempt to extract, scrape, or redistribute map packages except as allowed by applicable licenses.
- Reverse engineer third-party software or models where prohibited by applicable terms or law.
- Misrepresent Saftera as an official emergency, government, or rescue service.
6. Third-party services, data, and licenses
Saftera may use third-party services and materials, including operating system services, Google ML Kit for on-device translation, Cloudflare or similar infrastructure for map delivery, and map data derived from public or licensed sources.
Google ML Kit translation runs on device for translation input and output, but ML Kit may contact Google servers for model updates, bug fixes, hardware accelerator compatibility information, performance metrics, and misuse prevention. You may not reverse engineer or attempt to extract ML Kit software or models except where applicable law allows it.
Map data may include OpenStreetMap data. OpenStreetMap data is available under the Open Database License and requires attribution. See OpenStreetMap copyright and license information.
Third-party services and materials may be subject to their own terms, privacy policies, licenses, limitations, and availability.
7. App changes and availability
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We may also update map catalogs, remove outdated downloads, change supported regions, or change supported languages.
We do not guarantee that Saftera will be uninterrupted, error free, compatible with every device, or available in every country or region.
8. Intellectual property
Saftera, its app design, brand, software, and original content are owned by Saftera or its licensors. These Terms do not give you ownership of Saftera. You may use the app only as permitted by these Terms and the app store rules that apply to your copy.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Saftera is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Saftera will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, safety, opportunity, or other intangible losses arising from or related to your use of Saftera.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations. In those places, the limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.
10. Termination
You may stop using Saftera at any time. We may suspend or restrict access to services such as map delivery if we reasonably believe there is abuse, unlawful activity, security risk, or a violation of these Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, except where mandatory local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the app, law, or our practices change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when these Terms were last updated.
